Not that you care. New comics start 3rd June.
But I've been busy posting comics on my livejournal and totally ignoring this.
Oh well.
I sold an Anal Cunt cd to a baptist kid and God is pissed. He wont answer my texts or even look me in the eye. I'm seriously worried he's going to leave and... and... I just don't know if I can go on without him. I mean, come on, it was only a cd, God. Just get over it, grow some balls and come grind my lap like a Britney Spears back dancer like you used to. For fuck's sake.
Seriously though, I did actually sell an Anal Cunt cd to a baptist kid. He knew full well what they were like but I still feel a bit odd about it.
Anyway, I've had a full on day. Left work early to go check out some flats. I've differentiated them by giving them names. There's "shoe box", "poo pond views" and "the house that 1978 forgot". Looks like "poo ponds views" is a clear winner. "Shoe box" was cramped and awkward even with just me walking around so I don't want to even imagine what would happen if we put 4 people in there. "The house 1978 forgot" seems to be out of contention too which is a shame as I really liked it. It's got wooden floors and a spa! I love older looking houses. Unfortunately, it's on a busy road and the yards a bomb site so we seem to be leaning towards "poo pond views". It's a large, three bedroom flat which is seriously a 5 minute walk to work(right now, it's a 2 hour walk for me). Anyway, we're going to rally the troops and go have another look later in the week and maybe make an offer. I'm pretty keen to get this over with so I can go back to job hunting.
Speaking of job hunting... I had a job interview for a storeroom manager/sock co-ordinator position in the new mall in Albany. The lady from recruitment agency(who is friendly and awesome and stuff) picked me up as the interview was all the way in Mt Albert. I have no idea of my way around that area so he was going to escort me to the interview and sit in. However after driving an hour to get there, the douche who was advertising the position calls her and tells her I can't have the job. Just like that. We were literally 2 blocks away. Major bummer. My case manager apologised like crazy and I reassured her I didn't blame her and we went and had coffee at a french cafe in Mt Eden and talked about Australia and Christchurch and all sorts of nonsense. It was fun in an odd way and made up for the bungled job interview anyway. So back to job hunting I go. So sick of it but I've only got till the end of October to find something.
New cds! I have new cds!
Next up is Look What I Did's "Minuteman for the moment". According to the sticker on the wrapper it's for fans of the Dead Kennedy's, Dillenger Escape Plan and the Blood Brothers. Hmmm, hang on, I love all those bands but how do these guys stack up? Pretty damn well. Lyrically the band are all over the place. Attacking scene politics, the music industry and self important posers with a strong sense of humor. Musically the band balance the heavy stuff with some snappy melodies and some great hooks.
That's me folks. Catch ya later!
My top 10 albums...
Dead Kennedys - bedtime for democracy
Dog Fashion Disco - adultery
Mr Bungle - Disco Volante
Sikth- the trees are dead and dried out...
Drowningman - don't push when we're hot
Tom Waits - rain dogs
The Chariot - the fiancee
AC/DC - highway to hell
Nodes of Ranvier - self titled
Ben Folds Five - whatever and ever, amen
There you go.
Seriously, what happened there? I haven't around a lot recently but that should all change soon. My new comic is shaping up nicely and once I start working on that I should be updating and actually posting blogs or whatever with more regularity. Anyway, on to news...
I'm losing my job! Hooray, I hated the damn thing anyway. They're moving my job to the other side of Auckland so I'm leaving my job to go pursue boredom somewhere else. I'm kind of disappointed that they're just moving my job and not making me redundant. I could really use the pay out. I've got till the end of october to find something new so it shouldn't be too much hassle. Wish me luck.
I'm losing my flat! Ok, I'm not. I am however looking for new residence. I like my current dwellings but the ongoing costs are too high for me to maintain on my wages since Celia is no longer working. Fortunately my friend Ben has stepped and offered to flat with us which takes a lot of pressure off us. A round of applause for Ben, please.
I highly recommend Black Sheep and Idiocracy. They're the only recent films I've sat down to watch in a long time that has kept me glued to the tv, huge grin on my face.
In the next few months I have concerts from Napalm Death, Marilyn Manson and the Black Dahlia Murder with Cephalic Carnage and Ulcerate to look forward to.
That's about it. I could start ranting but it's late, I'm cold and tired and stuff. Y'know. Stuff.

Two people really stand out. First off, my Dad. When I was but a wee lad, I used to make tapes of a bunch of my dad's old lps. That's how I got into Deep Purple, The Doors, The Who, The Beatles, Hendrix, Dave Clark 5, Eric Burdon and the Animals, , Queen, Cream and whole bunch of other fantastic bands. The thing I seemed to pick up the most from those tapes was that the artists that appealed to me the most were the ones with their own distinct voice, hence the odd mix of artists listed above.
The other person is Brett. I didn't meet Brett till I was 17 and as much as it shames me to admit it, I was a total nu-metal kid back in the day. Brett saved me from the mainstream, started getting me into bands like Meshuggah and Machin Head. Good proper metal. For years we argued over who was into Earthtone 9 and Devin Townsend first.
God actually loves Anal Cunt.He was their original drummer. read more
